Too often, on the scheduling "island," schedulers see their mission as to simply produce a schedule on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. They are simply auditors of the project execution; they are not integrated into the actual execution process.
But when field personnel use the schedule to help them deploy their resources and to report progress, the schedule is doing its work for the project.
